Where It Started
Sixteen years ago, SmartSheep began as a curiosity project.
I was a self-employed software consultant, working from home while raising my children. I loved programming, database design, and creating software, but much of that creativity wasn't being fully used in my consulting work. SmartSheep became an outlet—a place to experiment, learn, and build simply because I enjoyed it.
Progress was never a straight line.
There were seasons when family came first, seasons when consulting work demanded my full attention, and sometimes months would pass without touching the project. Looking back, I occasionally wonder why it took so long.
Then I remember how much life happened during those years.
Despite the interruptions, curiosity always pulled me back. Every time I returned, I learned something new and improved the platform a little more.
The Moment It Changed
Everything changed in the spring of 2025.
While attending an Alzheimer's Association seminar, I listened as speakers discussed the growing need for customizable memory-support applications. Their vision was exciting, but I found myself thinking something unexpected:
What had started as a memorization and learning platform suddenly revealed a much larger purpose.
As I researched cognitive health, memory preservation, and community support, I realized that the technology behind SmartSheep could become the foundation for something much bigger.
Why the Apps Split Apart
That realization led to several important decisions.
The first was separating creation from gameplay. Teachers, parents, caregivers, organizations, and community leaders needed powerful tools to create personalized experiences, while participants needed simple, accessible ways to engage.
The second was recognizing that different communities face different challenges, and no single application could effectively serve them all.
SmartSheep would continue focusing on learning, memorization, and educational engagement.
Memory Spring would be developed to support individuals experiencing dementia, cognitive decline, traumatic brain injury, and memory-related challenges.
Additional ideas began to emerge—applications focused on life skills, mental wellness, recovery, community engagement, and other areas where meaningful interaction can make a difference.
What Infosha Is Growing
From those ideas, Infosha Game Labs was born.
Today, Infosha Game Labs develops purpose-driven applications that use game-based engagement to strengthen learning, memory, connection, and personal growth.
Each application serves a unique audience, but they all share the same foundation:
Whether helping a student learn, supporting a person in recovery, preserving family memories, guiding young people toward adulthood, or helping individuals stay connected during mental health challenges, the goal remains the same:
To encourage healthy connections, personal growth, and meaningful engagement.
What began as a curiosity project has grown into a family of applications united by a common mission.
Infosha is building technology that helps people learn, remember, recover, connect, and grow.
